Kristin Fay
Born on August 4th, 1993 in Austria, I live and work in Vienna where I currently study Montage at the Filmakademie Wien since 2023.
Interested, educated or skilled in various forms of art, my passion for filmmaking draws from all of them, cultivating in my works a recurring focus on the narrative possibilities of sound and image in film as well as experimental approaches to the audiovisual medium itself.

Photography as the capture of light onto a medium which can then be reproduced and experienced as an image is, to me, a deeply fascinating process.
Montage & Sounddesign
The actual film is hidden in within the material.
Through the process of constructing out of the various elements provided, a film becomes more than the individual parts themselves - it transforms into an audiovisual sculpture which can move, inspire and contemplate long after it has been experienced.

Animation
While the process of classic hand drawn frame by frame animation itself is very teadious and highly time consuming the results are always extremely fascinating.
I work on a digital drawing tabled, but plan on branching out to hand drawn animation on real paper sheets. This will open up the actual, tangible aspects of creating and feed my passion to connect with the work itself on a physical level.
Bringing inanimate objects to live wheter drawn animation or stop-motion is just amazing and one of the most exciting experiences one can have!

Foley Art holds a truly very special place in my film makers heart. I am very lucky to spend my time thinking about different sounds and noises, how to arrange or combine them in order to transport and hopefully communicate an idea.
